The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Mission Children's Hospital provides continuous care to critically ill or injured babies, children and adolescents. Combining electronic monitoring and life-support systems, with personal attention from a compassionate team of specially trained nurses, qualified therapists and Board Certified Pediatric Intensivists, we deliver advanced care that supports your child's optimal recovery.
Mission Children's PICU serves residents and visitors of western North Carolina through:

- Neonatal Developmental Follow-up Program
- Pediatric Critical Care
- Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Services
Pediatric Intensive Care Services are available only by referral through a primary care physician or the Emergency Department. Please discuss any concerns about your child's health with your primary care provider.
