At Mission Children's Hospital, we understand the discomfort and fear that allergies and immunology conditions can cause for a child and his or her family. Our team of pediatric specialists provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment programs to help you and your child control their symptoms and return to normal life.
Mission's Allergy and Immunology program cares for patients suffering from a number of conditions, including:
- Chronic cough
- Allergic inflammation of the skin, respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts
We offer a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan for patients suffering from allergies and immunology conditions. This includes:
- Physical exam
- Patient history review
- Lung function tests
- Peak flow measurements
- Chest x-Ray
- Allergy skin or blood tests
- Arterial blood gas
- Eosinophil Count (a type of white blood cell)
- Prick tests to test for potential allergens
- RAST Test (blood test for antibodies)
- Elimination diet
- Lung cultures
- Blood draws
We have an interdisciplinary staff of pediatric specialists trained in pediatric pulmonology and allergy/immunology. Our team works together to diagnose your child's condition and develop a treatment plan that may control symptoms and provide a healthy lifestyle for your family.
